For new & returning patients

Everything you need before your visit

From first-visit expectations to insurance and financing — we've put together everything that helps Bay Area families come prepared and leave smiling.

The Agape Experience

Walk in knowing what to expect

We've spent years refining how families experience our offices — so whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth, you'll find the same calm, transparent care every time.

A warm welcome

From your first phone call to your final goodbye, you'll be greeted by name and treated like family. Our front desk team makes every Bay Area visitor feel at home.

Honest, clear care plans

We explain every recommendation in plain English — no surprise bills, no upselling. You'll always know what's needed, what's optional, and what it costs before anything begins.

Built for families

Kids, parents, grandparents — book everyone on the same day at the same office. We schedule back-to-back family appointments so a single visit takes care of the whole household.

Your first visit

From hello to home, what to expect

New patient visits at our Fremont, Cupertino, and Milpitas offices follow the same predictable rhythm — comfortable, unhurried, and built around your questions, not just our schedule.

5 minutes

Arrival & check-in

Stop by the front desk where we'll confirm your paperwork, snap a quick insurance card photo, and walk you through anything you forgot to fill out online. Tip: arriving 10 minutes early makes everything smoother.

15 minutes

Digital X-rays & imaging

A friendly assistant will capture low-radiation digital X-rays and a few intraoral photos. This baseline imaging helps your doctor catch issues early and plan any future care — most insurance plans fully cover new-patient X-rays once a year.

30 – 45 min

Exam, cleaning & conversation

Your doctor and hygienist will perform a thorough exam, professional cleaning, and oral cancer screening. We'll talk through what we see together — using your X-rays and photos on-screen — so nothing about your mouth is a mystery.

10 minutes

Treatment plan & next steps

If anything beyond a routine cleaning is needed, you'll get a printed plan with clear costs and insurance breakdowns — no pressure, no surprises. We'll book your next visit before you leave, or send you home with the plan to think it over.

Insurance & Financing

Two clear paths to making care affordable

Common Questions

Answers to what new patients ask most

If you're booking your first visit with us, you're probably wondering one of these. Don't see your question? Call any of our Bay Area offices — we're happy to help.

How do I book my first appointment?

The fastest way is our online booking form — you can pick the office and time that works for you in under a minute. Prefer to call? Each of our three Bay Area offices has its own front desk that picks up directly: Fremont, Cupertino, and Milpitas.

What should I bring with me?

A photo ID, your dental insurance card (if you have one), and a list of any current medications. If you've completed our new patient forms online, you're all set — otherwise plan to arrive 15 minutes early to fill them out.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most major PPO dental plans, including Delta Dental, Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, and more. Call your local office with your insurance info and we'll verify your benefits before your visit so there are no surprises. See the full list.

What if I don't have insurance?

You're far from alone — many of our Bay Area patients pay out of pocket. We offer flexible financing through CareCredit with 0% interest options, in-house payment plans for larger treatments, and accept HSA/FSA cards. Learn about payment options.

How long will my first visit take?

Plan for about 60 to 75 minutes. That includes check-in, digital X-rays, your exam and cleaning, a conversation with your doctor, and time to ask questions. We never rush new patient visits.

Can my whole family book together?

Yes — and we encourage it. Just let us know who you'd like to schedule and we'll arrange back-to-back appointments at the same office on the same day. Most families finish their entire household's checkups in a single 90-minute window.

What if I haven't been to a dentist in years?

We see this all the time and we will never make you feel bad about it. If there's significant buildup or gum inflammation, your doctor may recommend a deeper cleaning over one or two visits to get you back to a healthy baseline — then it's just every six months from there.

Do you handle dental emergencies?

Yes — call any of our Bay Area offices with a chipped tooth, sudden pain, knocked-out crown, or other urgent issue and we'll do everything we can to see you the same day. After hours, our voicemail has emergency contact instructions.

Still have questions? Our front desk teams are happy to walk you through anything — no pressure, no obligation.
