Dental Care for Adults
Adult dental care is mostly about keeping what you have, fixing what is worn out, and sometimes improving your smile. We make it efficient, clear about cost, and easy to fit into a busy schedule.
The maintenance years
Between 18 and 64, your teeth do most of their actual living. Wisdom teeth come out (or stay if there's room). Old fillings from childhood eventually fail and need replacing. Coffee, wine, and tea slowly stain enamel. Stress from work and life creeps in at night as teeth grinding. Gum disease — the leading cause of tooth loss in adults — quietly takes hold in patients who skip cleanings.
And along the way, life events bring cosmetic moments to the front. A wedding. A career change. Senior photos for your own kids. Adult orthodontics has exploded — clear aligners now make it possible to fix a smile in your 30s, 40s, or 50s without anyone at the office noticing.
Across our Fremont, Cupertino, and Milpitas offices, we treat busy adults the way busy adults need to be treated: efficiently, honestly, and without judgment about how long it's been since your last visit.
What most adults actually need
For most adults, dental care is 80% prevention and 20% fixing the occasional thing. We focus on keeping it that way — and when something does need fixing, we do it once, well, and with options that fit your budget.
Cleanings & Exams
Twice a year, every year. The single thing that separates patients with easy dental lives from patients with expensive ones. Quick, comfortable, and the biggest return on time you'll spend on your teeth.
Learn moreInvisalign & Clear Aligners
Adult orthodontics done invisibly. No metal, no obvious bracket lines in meetings or photos. Most cases finish in 6–18 months. Hugely popular with adults who were told as kids they didn't "need" braces.
Learn moreTeeth Whitening
Professional in-office or supervised take-home options. Safe, effective, and noticeably better than over-the-counter strips. Great before weddings, big work events, or just because.
Learn moreNight Guards
Adult life is stressful, and your teeth know it. Custom-fit guards protect against grinding wear, prevent cracked teeth, and often resolve unexplained morning headaches and jaw tightness.
Learn moreCrowns & Bridges
For teeth that have been through it — old fillings, cracks, root canals, lost teeth. We restore function and appearance with materials that hold up for 15+ years.
Learn moreDental Emergencies
Broken tooth on a Tuesday? Crown came off before a flight? Sudden pain that won't quit? Call us — same-day visits across all three offices.
Learn moreHonest, efficient, no judgment
We're not going to lecture you about flossing. If you knew you should be doing it, you'd be doing it. What we'll do is meet you where you are, get you back to a healthy baseline, and find a routine that actually works for your life.
We're honest about cost. Before any treatment beyond a cleaning, you'll get a written estimate with what your insurance covers, what you owe, and what the alternatives are. Need a payment plan for major work? We have several financing options. The conversation about money happens before the chair, not after.
And we know your time is finite. Evening appointments after work. Saturday slots. Combined family visits so the whole household gets done in one trip. We try to be the easy thing on your calendar, not the dreaded one.
Things adults ask
I haven't been to a dentist in years. Will you judge me?
No. This is genuinely the most common situation we see in new adult patients, and we have zero interest in making you feel bad about it. Whatever brought you in is what matters. We'll do a thorough exam, give you a clear and honest picture of where things stand, and put together a sequence of visits — usually starting with a thorough cleaning — to get you back to a healthy baseline. From there, just two visits a year keeps it easy.
Is it too late for me to get my teeth straightened?
Not at all. Adult orthodontics is one of the fastest-growing categories in dentistry. Clear aligners like Invisalign work especially well for adults — they're nearly invisible at work, removable for meals and special events, and most cases finish in 6 to 18 months. We see patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond getting smiles they wished they'd had decades earlier.
Do I really need cleanings every six months as an adult?
For most adults, yes — it's the single most evidence-supported preventive habit in dentistry. Twice a year removes the tartar your toothbrush can't and catches small issues while they're still cheap and easy to fix. The patients who try to stretch it to once a year or less almost always end up needing more expensive work over time. Some lower-risk patients can occasionally extend the interval — we'll discuss based on what we see.
I have old silver fillings — should I replace them?
Not just because they're silver. Modern dentistry has moved to tooth-colored composite fillings, but a well-functioning old amalgam doesn't need to come out preemptively. We replace silver fillings when they're failing — cracked, leaking, decay underneath, or the tooth is breaking around them. If yours look fine and aren't causing problems, leaving them alone is usually the right call. We'll let you know if any need attention.
I grind my teeth at night and wake up sore. What helps?
Almost certainly bruxism — and very common in adults, especially anyone with a stressful job or poor sleep. A custom-fit night guard protects your teeth from the wear, gives your jaw muscles a place to rest, and very often resolves morning headaches, jaw tightness, and unexplained tooth sensitivity. Boil-and-bite guards from the drugstore are a poor substitute. A real custom guard is worth it.
How much does dental work cost without insurance?
Less than people expect, especially for preventive care. A new-patient exam, X-rays, and cleaning at our offices typically runs around $250–$350 depending on what's needed. Single fillings: $200–$400. Crowns: $1,200–$1,800. Whitening: $300–$600. Implants: $3,500–$5,000 per tooth all-in. We offer financing for major work, and our membership plan ($520/year for adults) covers two cleanings, all exams, X-rays, and gives you 20% off everything else — typically saves uninsured patients $400+ per year.
